My grandmother always wore pearls and it was just one of those things that we did. We wore it to church and special events. They symbolize beauty, fashion, and class.

I always admired them. My first gift was a pearl bracelet! I loved it, but because they were expensive I could not afford them myself. Once I had the opportunity to purchase them for myself, my friends would see my jewelry and inquire where could they get pieces from as well! I realized that everyone could not import the pearls overseas as I did, so I decided to sell them myself at an affordable price. My business grew from word of mouth.
